BuhoCleaner is an excellent free cleaner from Microsoft. The product webpage boasts that it can clean up "thousands of registry keys", which may not be accurate. However, as far as I can tell, there's no built-in way to download or purchase BuhoCleaner for your Mac. There's no indication on the website or download page of the software how to get the program. You simply download the software, hit a few buttons, and let it do its magic. That's all there is to it, really!
If you like a detailed explanation of the uninstalled data, you can always click on the small "extras" icon at the bottom right of the main interface. Once there, you'll find links to several articles about how to get your macos back in tip-top shape. I suppose this is where the free software ends. I was able to download and install the free software but the program did not do anything for me other than show me how to delete the duplicate files. It would have been nice if there was a help file or other ways to utilize the program other than removing files.
If your looking for a cleaner which is a little more advance than the free programs, try downloading one of the paid alternatives to BuhoCleaner, such as Duplicate File Fix. The only difference with Duplicate File Fix is that the paid version includes some additional features. These include removing orphaned shortcuts, removing duplicate files, and hiding unused apps. Duplicate File Fix also has an application that can be used to scan your entire computer for errors.
